Major Resort Contract

THE Hunter Valley's Quantum Energy Systems has won a major contract with the Club Med Lindeman Island resort in Queensland.

Quantum is the world's only manufacturer of the energy-efficient Quantum Heat Pump hot water systems.

Managing director Steve Harmon said that the solar-boosted Quantum energy systems worked day and night; rain, hail or shine.

`They're perfect for the Whitsunday environment,' Mr Harmon said.

The final approval for the project came direct from Club Med in Paris.

`All Club Med resorts around the world have been instructed to reduce overall energy consumption by 15% and Lindeman Island realised the substantial benefits proposed by Quantum.

`Our hot water systems will be installed in guest accommodation, staff buildings and the main resort kitchen.

`Because of the energy efficiency of the system, Lindeman Island management expect to recover their investment in Quantum within two years, solely in cost savings associated with reduced diesel usage.

`This could well open the door for Quantum to Club Med resorts around the world.

`Equally important is the environmental impact on the island. Following the Quantum installation, the reduction in CO

emissions from generator exhausts will amount to hundreds of tonnes a year.'
