A VISIT to Thomas Island means you can also pop in to the Club Med resort at adjacent Lindeman Island for a change of pace, or to shield from strong winds.

Subject to availability, there are moorings available for a half day (12hrs) at $30 per boat or full day (24hrs) at $50 per boat.

The French-owned resort is famous for its gourmet buffets, and you can enjoy breakfast for $22 (adults) and $11 for children (4-11); toddlers eat for free.

Lunch or dinner is $72 for adults, $36 for kids and $7 for 2- and 3-year-olds. That includes unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks, plus full use of the non-motorised sports and activities.

There's an action packed option between 3-6pm (for $35 per person) which takes in archery, tennis, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, the Club Med circus school, or a round on the picturesque 9-hole golf course.

Failing that you can simply sit by the pool and dine aboard your boat . . . but I certainly recommend the lunch.
